No, this isn’t a site about the original Olympic Games written by someone with a slight spelling problem. Let me share the following quote to set the proper perspective…
Genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration.
This is a great quote that you probably already know, but just stop for a minute and read it again, slowly. Think of this man and his inventions. Pause and think, what was he really saying. Contemplation, reflection and introspection are activities necessary to drive inspiration, and are becoming more uncommon in today’s constant stimulation society.

I am an incredibly fortunate person. I was in the right place at the right time, and stumbled into the beginning of an entirely new market. Quite by accident I discovered that I had a natural talent for envisioning and creating software. I worked so hard; I can’t image pushing my 49 year old body and mind so hard for so long, like I did in the early days. I still push a little too hard, but I can’t help it – too much cool technology keeps evolving!
Sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
But I ramble – which I am frequently prone to do – what I am trying to say is this; I may have 30 years calendar duration in computer software, but my “experience years” are considerably longer.
Most of the time, I provide value professionally by consulting executives and leading my delivery team. I still write code weekly, but most of it is proof-of-concept work. Occasionally, I have the great pleasure of doing some “drive-by-coding” on real production software! (Thank goodness for SVN’s revert command.)

Babble or insight – what is this site really? You have to be the judge. Remember that there are two aspects to insight with equal measure on the quality of what is said and to how it is listened. You have my commitment to do my best efforts when both speaking and listening to your comments.
I will attempt to keep this site interesting, with humor (at least my version of humor) and relevant topics; from software architecture to code automation, to development process, to DSL and even some developer centric product reviews of non-developer targeted products.
Although, I have mostly guessed right, be cautioned that I have had some notable incorrect judgements about technology direction, and timing – I have the Newton to prove it.
Be warned that I frequently use satire. so if I say something you don’t agree with, just assume I am being satirical. That way you will like me better.
As you have already learned from this introduction, I am inspired by great thinkers and will frequently incorporate their quotes into my postings. I hope you find these quotes relevant, inspiring and at times humorous.
The great things a man does appear to be great only after they are done. When they are at hand, they are normal decisions and are done without knowledge of their greatness.
